KIMBERLEY FOREST covers almost 1000 acres of public land in the beautiful Beaver Valley in Grey Highlands, Ontario, Canada. We, the members of a local community group, are working to preserve and restore the environment while developing the educational and recreational opportunities of this land. The group has representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources, The Bruce Trail Conservancy, Grey Sauble Conservation Authority, the Beaver Valley Ski Club, the Beaver Valley Nordic Ski Club, snowshoeing, hunting and fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, snowmobiling and ATVing. Our shared interest in protecting this unique property and our willingness to communicate and collaborate with other users and stakeholders make this a very positive process and will be key to the successful preservation and continuous enjoyment of The Kimberley Forest.

The steering committee is currently refining a draft stewardship strategy (previously referred to as a management plan) for the Kimberley Forest, incorporating comments and suggestions from the public meeting and public survey. As well the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has provided some preliminary comments on the draft, which the committee is considering.
The Second Public Meeting for the Kimberley Forest was held in October, 2014 at the Kimberley Hall. Moderator, Jim Harrold brought attendees up to speed about the activities of the steering committee. That Presentation is available here. Suggestions and comments from the audience for recommendations were recorded for consideration for inclusion in the draft stewardship strategy.
